木曽を訪れた時、猛々しい山々、群青の河底、木曽馬が放牧された森、その原初的な光景を前に圧倒されました。 そして遥か昔に義仲と巴御前が、この場所でどのような時間を共に過ごしていたのか思い巡らせました。 甲冑を身に纏い、義仲の戦友として強く荒々しく描かれる巴御前、また愛妾としても描かれている巴御前、 どの姿も本当であり、違うのかもしれない。 雪がかかった険しい山々に、一足早い春の訪れを知らせる黄色い花、福寿草。 厳しい寒さの中で、あたたかい日々を待つ二人を描きたいと思いました。 少しでも心が穏やかになる時間があったことを願いながら。
When I visited Kiso, I was overwhelmed by the primordial sight of the fierce mountains, the blue riverbed, and the forest where Kiso horses grazed. I also wondered how Yoshinaka and Tomoe Gozen had spent their time together in this place so long ago. Tomoe Gozen is portrayed as a strong and rough warrior friend of Yoshinaka, wearing armor, and at the same time, she is also portrayed as his mistress. Every figure is real and may be different. The yellow flower, Fukujuso, signals the early arrival of spring in the steep snow-covered mountains. I wanted to depict the two people waiting for the warm days in the severe cold, as I am wishing they have had some time to be at peace.

画家 1980年生まれ福岡育ち。2005年多摩美術大学美術学部 絵画 学科油画専攻卒業。2006年より福岡を拠点に作家活動を開始。 2010年 「ART AWARD NEXT#1」青年会賞受賞。2012年「VOCA 展 2012−新しい平面の作家たち−」に出品。2013年「損保ジャパン美術賞展」優秀賞受賞。 2014年「第5回福岡アジア美術トリエンナーレ」に出品。 2016年に横浜市民ギャラリーで個展「I am a painter」を開催。 2019年西日本文化賞奨励賞を受賞。現在も国内外の展覧会で発表を行っている。黒一面の背景に艶のある油彩で主題を描く独特の画風が高く評価され、展覧会のほか書籍の表紙絵も多く手掛ける。
Painter Born in 1980 and raised in Fukuoka, Japan. Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Painting, majoring in oil painting in 2005. She has won several awards including the “Young Artist's Association Award" at the ART AWARD NEXT#1(2012), “Sompo Japan Art Award" Excellence Award (2013), and "West Japan Cultural Award" Incentive Award (2019). She has participated in the “VOCA Exhibition - The Vision of Contemporary Art 2012" in 2012 and the "5th Fukuoka Asian Art Triennial" in 2014. In 2016, she held a solo exhibition "I am a painter" at Yokohama Citizen Gallery. She continues to present her work in exhibitions in Japan and abroad. Her unique style of painting subjects in glossy oil on a black background is highly acclaimed, and she has done many cover paintings for books in addition to exhibitions.
