concept

Until when is the sunrise truly a sunrise?

I constantly thought about this and exposed myself to historical facts, traditions, stories, and legends, as I simultaneously imagined and pursued the vitality of those days which remained in places such as the land of Kiso. Through doing so, the large and nebulous existence of the sunrise overlapped with the nobility and ephemerality that was emanated by Yoshinaka, also known as the Asahi Shogun.

This was because of the legends and traditions left behind of each warrior involved in the battles and the places they fought at. Although it cannot be conveyed in this work alone, the pieces of an image of Yoshinaka like this are scattered among the animation and the music.

I hope that an aspect of this artwork sticks with you, and that you can bring it back home to use as a foundation for a new image of Yoshinaka.
